Chapter 12 is an opportunity to meditate on a model of speech as frames of data, where each frame consists of an array of numbers, each number being generated by a random function. We can generate trackes by specifying a random walk. We can generate curved tracks by the necessary maths. For example, it is easy to specify a circle mathematically by a difference equation. If the above works, then the approach of trying to interpret what I read in the book in terms of a speech model, has been a success. "All roads lead to Rome". It would be possible to extract only a small fraction of the book, or to re-order it, so that material relevant to a particular goal was selected. In the case of school, e.g. high school or university, it would be possible to have a video game which remembers what the user and learnt. SUch a game could "accredit" the user, e.g. as a pilot or doctor or mathematician, on the basis of playing the game. In Spain recently I noticed a report that FUNDESEM and CAJA MEDITERRANEO had put onto the market, the 10th edition of a business simulation game. This allowed you to get accreditation in an academic course, by playing the game. Of course, the above game may be very limited, I do not know. But in principle (with better user interfaces than are widely availa
